Texifier is a professional LaTeX editor that allows you to easily edit and typeset LaTeX, Plain TeX, and Markdown documents on your iPad or iPhone. With Texifier, you don't need an internet connection to work on your projects.
Texifier's main focus is on providing a user-friendly editing experience that allows for straightforward navigation and efficient typesetting of projects of any size. When you open a LaTeX root file in Texifier, it automatically scans the file, opens any referenced files, and extracts the document structure for display in the outline view. It also configures the typesetter according to the packages and tools used in your document.
The editor in Texifier offers various useful features, including a choice of themes, syntax highlighting, autocomplete of commands (including those defined in your document), and autofill for \cite commands and \ref commands among others. The powerful sidebar provides a summary of your document structure, making it easy to navigate through large multi-file projects. The outline view lists all labels, figures, tables, todos, and includes a powerful search function that can search and replace across your entire project using normal text searches or regular expression searches.
The internal typesetter in Texifier, called TexpadTeX, doesn't require an internet connection and offers support for almost any LaTeX package available. It includes PGF drivers, Native Fonts extensions, and Unicode support. TexpadTeX also integrates a BibTeX tool and a Makeindex compatible indexer for documents that require them. The integrated bundle manager takes care of downloading, installing, and updating LaTeX packages for you, ensuring you have access to almost the entire LaTeX ecosystem without using excessive space on your device.
TexpadTeX can operate in Live mode, automatically updating the output as you type. This eliminates the need to wait for a typeset to finish before seeing the updated results.
In cases where documents are not compatible with TexpadTeX, Texifier seamlessly integrates with free cloud typesetters. With a simple press of the "typeset" button, Texifier can run the typeset in the cloud and present the results as if they were typeset on your device.
After each typeset, Texifier organizes any errors in your document in a table of issues. You can tap on an issue to jump directly to the offending line of LaTeX source or view the line in the original log if you prefer.
Texifier works well with the Files app, allowing you to store and work on your documents wherever you choose. Additionally, Texifier Connect is directly integrated into Texifier, enabling collaboration and easy access across devices.
Texifier fully supports Markdown alongside LaTeX, providing syntax highlighting editing and an outline view for easy browsing. When you press "Typeset," Texifier transparently converts and typesets your Markdown document using LaTeX, combining the ease of Markdown with LaTeX's ability to create beautiful and high-quality PDFs. Plain TeX users can also edit and typeset their documents in Texifier.
